I have been teaching since 2015 and have only ever worked at Finley Oates Elementary. My first year I taught Kindergarten and since then I’ve taught second grade. 

My husband, Micah Hilliard, and I have been married since July of 2013 and own a home in town. Micah works at Morning Star Academy and teaches P.E. and Health for Pre-K through 8^th graders. Most kids know him as “Coach” or occassionally “Mr. Coach”. :) We just had our first child, Diana Wren, October 5^th, 2020 so be prepared to see lots of pictures!! We also have two female dogs, Cassie and Lyra who were both rescued from animal shelters. Lyra, the older and smaller of the two, is a rat terrier/chihuahua mix and Cassie is an Australian Shepherd/Lab mix. 

I grew up in a town half (or less) the size of Bonham and 20 minutes away, in Leonard, TX. My parents owned a Steel Framed Home Company on the square there. When I was a sophomore, I transferred to Bonham High School and drove my old cherry red Mustang to school until I graduated in 2010. 

My husband and I enjoy going to the movies together and are usually pretty knowledgeable about the new kids or superhero movies coming out. In my free time I sometimes do acrylic paintings, but I enjoy reading often. I read books about education, young adult novels, or thrillers. I also love to listen to some current music, but mostly the oldies like classic rock, jazz, or blues.
