In 1995 I married Kevin Peterson. We have one son, Nicholas.

We enjoy camping and trail riding together with friends, often in the hills of Oklahoma. The fresh air and time outdoors is a perfect retreat to re-energize our batteries.

I have worked at Finley-Oates Elementary School since the campus opened in 1997. I truly believe our campus strives to be the best. Our team works hard to see that every child who walks through our doors is guaranteed the love and support every child needs and deserves, and to maximize their potential in everything they do.

I entered the field of education because I enjoyed helping kids grow and learn. After several years in this profession, education has evolved. We no longer teach basic skills like “reading, writing and arithmetic.” We also address new technologies that change rapidly. I enjoy watching the kids learn to read and become better readers, but also to use computers and tablets to learn how to research their interests and explore the world around them in a safe environment.

I look forward to another year at Finley-Oates. I am excited about some plans we have for new programs here in the library, and hope you and your child will enjoy them, too!
