I attend many professional development sessions each year; however, I particularly enjoy attending the TCEA Conference (Texas Computer Education Association) each February.
This will be my third year with Bonham Independent School District and I am so happy to be working at the Finely-Oates campus!
I am an Instructional Coach/Interventionist in the Success Lab as well as the campus technology specialist. My schedule will be very different this year since we have so many changes due to COVID-19 regulations, however, I look forward to the challenges and hope to help as many teachers and students as possible.
Finley-Oates is a great place to work and I am so happy to get to work with such an amazing staff and students!
I began my career as an elementary P.E. teacher and JH/HS coach at Collinsville ISD in 1997. In 1999, I began teaching 5th/6th grade Science at Sam Rayburn ISD. While at Sam Rayburn, I taught PK-6 Computers, various elementary PE classes, and spent 15 years as the Elementary UIL Coordinator. I also spent several years coaching JH/HS Track teams and assisting at all levels of girl's softball and basketball programs. After teaching science for roughly eight years, I began helping the Technology Director with technology troubleshooting for the district and eventually became the district Instructional Technology Specialist/Tech Specialist.
I met my husband, Donavan, while attending the University of North Texas. We were married in 1997 and moved to Bonham in 1998 (he is a BHS graduate). Together, we have two children Hope and Seth. Our daughter, Hope, graduated from Sam Rayburn in 2017 and is currently in Corpus Christi entering her second year in Dental Hygiene school. Our son, Seth, is a 2019 graduate of Bonham High and works for Turpin Septic.
We currently have three household pets. We have two mini Australian Shepherds Bolt (our oldest) and Nemo (who is three-legged), and a stray cat we call Pumpkin.
